I was recently diagnosed with mononucleosis, and have been suffering intense sore throat as a result. I went to my family doctor yesterday to tell her about the pain, and she prescribed me a bottle of 50mg tramadol tablets. After another hour, I suddenly felt extremely tired and dizzy, and could barely keep my head up. My pupils were constricted, and though I wasn't hallucinating or shaking, I was afraid that I was suffering from a mild overdose. I started to get an intense headache about six hours after taking the initial pill. Thankfully, I stayed awake for the next ten hours and the symptoms began to subside, so I slept for the night. Today I've woken up without the headache, but I still feel drowsy and like my head is stuffed with cotton. I feel like I can't concentrate or think straight, and I've been making typos all day long. I also have a feeling of pressure behind my forehead.

I'm worried about what happened to me on tramadol. After looking up online testimonials, I've read that it's extremely addictive and can lead to seizure and adverse reactions in people who react badly to opiates. I have no idea why my doctor wouldn't tell me this. Do you think I'm still suffering mild side effects of yesterday's dose, or is there a potential that I've permanently damaged my brain by taking 100mg of tramadol? I weigh about 130 pounds. Is there a minimum amount which leads to overdose? Has anyone else had a bad experience with tramadol?

I occasionally take the odd 100mg slow release tablet of tramadol to pick me up. it works really well. i dont do it that often. maybe a pill every two to three weeks. i take not to mix them with alcohol. but i find it really helps when going out socializing.
but can someone suggest a safer alternative that proivides at least similar results ? in particular something that helps in greater confidence (or at least helps to eliminate self-doubt). im a 30 year old male in relatively good health.
all suggestions welcome. it can be either another pill or something else (other than excercise - which i do 3 times a week anyway)

I am on the anti-depressant medication Lexapro (Escitalopram) for PO OCD (Purely Obsessional OCD) My old psychiatrist started me off on 5mg per day, and now have reached 60mg per day. I'm also on Seroquel (For sedation), Valium (To calm me down), and Lexotan (Also, to get rid of anxiety) Please people, put your heart and soul into a response, because I'm getting very desperate. Could I put something with the Lexapro to make it more effective? I've been on Serepax, Xanax, Mogadon, Rohypnol, Clonazepam, Temaze, Ativan, Risperidone, Amilsipride, Zyprexa, Codeine, Oxycontin, Tramadol, etc...So if your going to recommend them, don't worry about it.
One more thing: What anti-psychotics (major tranquilizers) are ther most sedating? Old ones or new ones. I want something to make me very, very, relaxed. Something that will totally calm my body down. Cheers.

My second question is for my father. He has problems with his bowels. After a bowel motion, he gets extremely itchy and feels an intense burning sensation. His stools are broken and he has residue when he wakes up in the morning. He doesn't have full movements. He as alot of wind, and burping occurs even before eating or drinking. He also has nausea and dry mouth. His medications are: Lexapro 10mg, Nexium 40mg, Canesten cream and Valium when he needs it. Can anybody shed some light on this issue?

About 3 weeks ago, I woke up with severe lower back pain that is located right in the centre, just above my butt (so it's not my coccyx). At the time, I took 100mg tramadol and heat packs and it went away in about 5 days. Since then, it's been coming back randomly, and only lasting about 2 days. However, today it's back with a vengeance. I was barely able to walk 5 hours ago and tramadol hasn't helped. 4 weeks ago my doctor put me on a combination of Cymbalta (SNRI)60mg and tramadol 100mg. After becoming "sicker" I stopped both on my own. I decided to only take the Pristiqu until I could talk to my dr on Monday. I feel a little better today but not well or perfect. I researched serotonin syndrome on the web today and it sounds quite serious. I had every symptom of serotonin syndrome, except for coma.

If I only take the Pristiqu will I be OK till Monday or should I stop all meds?

Should I go to an Urgent Care or ER or will I be ok till Monday when I can speak with my doctor?

Following an accident - I have a supply of tramadol (slow release). I've recovered now, but have some left. Id say about 30 slow release 100mg tablets.
I've gotten into the habit of taking 3 every night and feeling good - comedown is not too bad and im taking milk thistle as i figured it would be my liver that would be most affected.
